Ron Carter's new CD, Dear Miles, is just out this week. It includes 2 original compositions by Carter. Along with him on bass are Stephen Scott on piano, Payton Crossley on drums, and Roger Squitero on percussion.
Second in the lineup is violinist Jean-Luc Ponty, who made his mark playing early in his career with Al Di Meola and Stanley Clarke, Frank Zappa, and others.
He will also be performing on Wednesday June 27, at Zankel Hall (57th Street & 7th Avenue,
New York, NY, 8:30pm). His new album, The Atacama Experience, has just been released.
