Daniel J. Levitin

Daniel J. Levitin is at McGill University,where he studies studies the science of musical sound, using a broad spectrum of approaches from low-levels (genes, neuroanatomy) to higher level processes such as the acquisition of musical expertise and the perception of musical emotion.

He discusses his work and his new book This Is Your Brain on Music: The Science of a Human Obsession (now in paperback).
